For anyone looking for a last minute Christmas present for
your SOSP (Significant Other Sailing Partner), the following
book was mentioned in the most recent copy of the Sabre owners
newsletter:
"Chap Womans Guide to Shemanship and Pilot Handling"
deals with the plight of women who love men who love
boats, women who worry about no longer loving men who
love boats, and women who finlly learn to adjust to a
'menage a trois'.
Chap Woman is the female counterpart to the famous
Captain Chapman who wrote the definitive guide to
boating: Piloting, Seamanship and Small boat Handling.
The authors tell it like it is, from the female point
of view. For Example:
- The heel may be defined as the boat laying on its
side and playing dead.
- When you're off course, it's called "not paying
attention." When he does the same thing, it's
called "windshift."
- Entertaining on your boat is like having a dinner
party in your closet.
Book co-authored by Anne Sirna (owner of Sabre 34's #1
and #292) and Antonia Richie.
Available from The Annagram Group, Box 584, Berwyn, PA
19312 (215-649-3339) for $8.95 including postage.
I called them yesterday and while they don't take credit cards
they did ship the book (cuz they said I sounded honest!!!) and
asked me to put a check in the mail.

You're right. They do trust Dec-ies. I think they may be losing
money on the book by returning phone calls, however.

Got mine for my SOSP (see .0) for XMAS (see Claus, Santa) and it
is a great success. There will be several more orders from friends
of mine who heard about it. For anyone with doubts, don't worry
- my fear would be that they run out of books on the first printing!

There was a copy in my Christmas stocking. We've both have had
several good chuckles and we've only read the foreward and chapter
one!

Great book! Ours arrived Christmas eve. I swear the authors never
sailed with us, and I have accused my wife of contributing our
first hand experiences.

The reason I ask is, Directory Assistance could not find
The Annagram Group anywhere in their 215 area code listings.
Any new address or phone listing would be appreciated.
