Does anyone have any information on the Herresheoff American Eagle sloop? This boat is 22 feet on deck, 26 feet overall, is gaff rigged, similar to the Friendship sloops in style. They were made in the 70's and are real nice looking - treaditional. I am thinking of selling my lobster boat and getting one. Any information would be appreciated. Paul

The Eagle was produced by Squadron Yachts out of Rhode Island. They made a small number of "Classic" designs (power & sail) out of fibreglass. One of the founders of Squadron Yachts was Stan Nowak (that's not a misprint). Stan lives in Barrington, R.I. and now works for Wang (if he didn't get caught in one of the layoffs). You might give him a call at home . . . he's in the book. He would be the best source of information I can think of. Adam Couture |
