    I can't claim to have fabulous equipment or anything, but I do love
    to sail my SUNFISH at maximum speeds, but am frustrated by the
    apparent lack of places to sail in the eastern Mass area.  I live
    in the MAYNARD area, and am looking for suggestions on places I
    can toss my little fish into water to sail it into the ground (a
    poor choice of words, but you get my drift? <gag>).
    
    Any thoughts??  I know about Lake Chauncey (small), Cochituate (flukey,
    by reputation).  Are any of the reservoirs OK to sail on?  Newport's
    a little big for a sunfish - might get run over by all the
    windsurfers.....

    I'm not into lake sailing, but have you tried Webster lake out side
    of Worcester.  Also how about Quinsigomond or ever Bare Hill lake in
    Harvard.

    THERE ARE A BUNCH OF NOTES EARLIER THAT WILL GIVE YOU SOME IDEAS
    
    IN THE MAYNARD AREA, THE TOWN LAKE IN LITTLETON IS 10 MINS AWAY.
    THEN THERES SANDY POND IN AYER OFF 2A (ROUGHLY 15 MINS)
    OFF RT 117 IS LOST LAKE IN GROTON. ALSO THERE IS BABACOCK POND WHERE
    THERE ARE SEVERAL SUNFISH USED IN ADDITION TO THE FISHERMEN IN SMALL
    BOATS. DEPENDING ON YOUR LEVEL OF SKILL, YOU CAN THEN LOOK AT PLACES
    LIKE THE MERRIMECK (SP) IN LOWELL. THE TOWN LAKE IN HAVARD IS SUPER,
    BUT IF YOU DON'T LIVE IN TOWN, THEY WILL NOT LET YOU USE IT (YOU
    NEED A TOWN STICKER TO GET NEAR IT!)

    If you like the open water, try Falmouth.  There is a stretch of
    beach, about 1/2 mile past Falmouth City beach , that is noman's
    land, or at least it was last summer.   I too have a sunfish and
    enjoy plenty of open water.
