Has anyone experienced problems or have any hints for success with overcoating and/or touching up the copolymers like Micron33 ? I have some rubs on an otherwise sound bottom that need a couple touchup coats in places. I asked the International folks who recommended I wash down the bottom with a solvent like Fiberglass Wash and do the whole bottom - in otherwords buy a gallon instead of a quart. Walt

I have used Micron33 for 3 years. I have never had a problem with overcoating. Wash the surface with water to remove dirt. If you use a solvent, you'll remove the paint and have to redo the bottom. I suppose if I was selling bottom paints, I would recommend redoing the bottom. | |||||

Thanks for the reassurance. I finally decided to wipe over the areas needing repainting with 202 solvent wash (very lightly as it turned out) and go for about 3 coats in the areas that needed touchup due to scratches and wear. That took less than a quart. The boat has been in for 2 weeks now, we shall see how well it does. Walt |
