177.0. "Daysailor I" by MOTHER::BLAISDELL () Fri Sep 20 1985 21:21

After listing my DS I realized I had not discussed where it might be be used.
What boat you buy may be influenced by the answer to this question, so it
seems I should add that information.

At 575 lbs plus trailer, the Day Sailer is trailerable behind most cars, so
you could simply trailer this boat to your favorite sailing locations. On the
other hand, you may wish to settle on one sailing location and often this
means a sailing club. One of the Day Sailer's strenghts is the number of
fleets in New England and I thought it would be interesting to list them for
you. The 14 New England Day Sailer fleets are:

Fleet No.

    2	Marblehead, MA
   15	Orleans, MA (Town Cove)
   18	Stage Harbor, Chatham, MA
   34	Chatham, MA (Pleasant Bay)
   49	Webster Lake, Webster, MA
   67	Lake Quannapowitt, Wakefield, MA
   76	Lake Champlain, Burlington, VT
   79	Lake Massapoag, Sharon, MA
   81	Watuppa Lake, Fall River, MA
  108	Somerset, MA
  109	Namequoit, Orleans, MA (Pleasant Bay)
  116	Thompson Lake, Oxford, ME
  117	Cotuit, MA
  119	Plymouth, MA

If your are interested in this boat, I can help you get in touch with any of
these fleets or any of the other 30+ fleets around the country.

177.1Daysailor association?DEMSUP::ALESBURYTue May 28 1991 10:1317
I just bought a 17 foot O'Day DaySailor. The previous owner suggested that I
join the DaySailor Association as an inexpensive way to gain access to parts
and accessories. He even gave me the name of someone in Alabama to
write to.... which I did. But, just last week the letter came back as
undeliverable.

Are there any of you out there who know of such an association and can tell me
how I can join?

I'd also be interested in hearing of any general knowledge you may have about
sailing associations and whether it's worth joining or not.

Thanks in advance,

Bill
