139.0. "Wooden Dinghy" by ASGNQH::DROWN () Wed Jul 10 1985 15:37

My wife and I have just finished building a Glen 8-ball wooden sailing
dinghy. This is a 8' x 4' pram made with marine plywood and spruce and
the hull has a versatex covering. This is said to be an excellent towing
dinghy and its fun to sail, not very fast but, because it is 'beamy', it's
safer for children.

We are interested in building them to order as sailers or rowing dinghys.
Contact me thru this notes file if you're interested or have any questions.

Harry:

	Just read your note. We live in Hudson, NH (next town to Nashua).
	The dinghy is 8' by 4' and can be either a sailing or rowing/sailing
	boat.  The approximate prices are:

		Non-sailing : $450
		Sailing :     $650   13' mast, 9 1/2' boom, 34 sq ft sail,
			sleeve type, includes lines, hardware.

	The hulls have a L-26 application on all wood. An L-26 plus versatex
	sheath would add about $100 to the price.

	My wife (the chief carpenter) thinks we can have one ready in about
	1 month or , as an alternative, we could sell ours and build another.

	Let me know if you might be interested.
