I HAVE JUST PURCHASED A CD WEEKENDER WITH A MINIMUM OF EXTRA EQUIPMENT IE, GENOA AND SPINNAKER GEAR, BOW PULPIT, OUTBOARD BRACKET. CAN ANYONE SUGGEST SOME REASONABLE FIRST PURCHASES 4-4576

Here are some sugestions. safety gear - life jackets, fire extinquisher, signal kit, first aid. navigation gear - compass, plotting tools, charts of where you intend to sail. Be sure to have good dock lines, tape, extra cotter pins, tool kit, knife. There is much more you can use, but that should get you started. | |||||

If you have wood, do something to preserve it. I keep a plastic tarp over some pieces of the boat to keep deck lines from getting soaked and to keep water out of the cockpit. If the cockpit is exposed, some kind of hand pump to clean out any water that can't run off. Rick |
