2300.0. "Analyzing crashdump gives "address out of range"" by SWETSC::LONNGREN () Thu Mar 27 1997 07:20

It was a long time since I analyzed a RSX crashdump and now I have
got one from a 11M+ V4.1 system that gives the following in the list-
file when running CDA on 11M+ V4.5.

 RSX-11M-PLUS CRASH DUMP ANALYZER V4.5 26-MAR-97 12:17 PAGE 1

  DOMET0324/-SP=DOMET.CDA

I know that I have seen this before some time ,but I can't recall
 the reason for this message.

 - Is it possible that I have got a wrong STB file ?
 - Any other Ideas why getting this message ?

    Hi,

It is a long time for me but I believe you get the message when you do
not put the memory size on the CDA line it defaults to 512KW or KB so
that if you have more memory than the default that is the message you
get. The switch and I can be wrong is "/MEM:xxxx." the decimal telling
CDA that the number is decimal.

    Good Luck

When you created the .CDA file (presumably from the binary tape) did you
remember to use the /MEMSIZ: switch ?

Also, you appear to have forgotten the STB file ...

So, to get the .CDA file from tape ...

,DOMET.CDA/MEMSIZ:nnnn=MU0:,[g,m]RSX11M.STB/STB

Then to analyze the .cda

DOMET0324/-SP=DOMET.CDA,RSX11M.STB/STB
