4845.1 | Any VAX could be used | TAEC::URSCH | | Fri Jan 31 1997 10:42 | 8 |
| Hello,
There is no specific VAXELN systems, you need to find a VAX and
provide a boot node with the VAXELN image to be loaded.
Or do you need specific hardware on the system.

| Jean-Michel,
Thanks for your quick answer...
I don't need any specific hardware. Only what you just listed as
necessary to run VAXELN.
My question is, is there is such a VAXELN configuration ready for use on
site, or will I have to build one? The first goal is to help evaluating
the effort for porting some software to that platform, so it would be
great if we could save the hardware gathering and system mgt. time...
Thanks,
-- Olivier.

4845.3 | It's just a boot load image | BBRDGE::LOVELL |  l'eau; c'est l'heure | Sun Feb 02 1997 22:30 | 7 |
| Well all the LPS20's load VAXELN from the network when they boot so
something must be servicing them on site.
If you want a pure ELN run-time system unencumbered with printer
software then I think you'll have to get the kit and set it up on a
boot server - I sure don't know of any other machines round here
running ELN.
