The opening of national telecommunications markets and the deployment of new 
technologies such as PCS, SDH, ATM, have confronted Telecom Operators and 
Service Providers with new challenges in multiple domains. The management of 
networks and quality of service are two such critical areas. The Telecommunications 
Management Network  - TMN, while offering enormous flexibility, has given rise to a 
whole set of design and  implementation questions.

part of the 3rd TeMIP Worldwide Forum that will take place in Cancun, 6th to 8th 
May 1997.
