163.0. "HP Deskjet 1600c missing lines at bottom of page" by SIOG::NAUGHTON () Fri Feb 07 1997 19:33
Hi All,
A site that I support has a couple of HP Deskjet 1600c printers, one of
which has developed a peculiar fault.
The printer will not print on the last inch (approx.) of paper using
any word processor (Win95 using MS Word, notepad, Wordpad, or even the
paint program). This printer was an option swap for one which had the
exact same fault 1 month ago.
My question is, does anyone know of this fault with this machine and
what causes it?
Any help is much appreciated

| With Word, there is a known bug with inkjet printers such that the page
numbers in a footer (bottom inch?) do not print. Workaround = increase
the page setup footer spacing from the .5 inch default to .7 inch.

| Are those 1600's using the Postscript option?
If so, I wonder if there's a way that a Postscript file downloaded
to the printer could have permanently changed the printable area
of the page?
