2239.0. "dcecp acl replace from file does not work" by CSC32::C_REESE (Fine. How are you?) Thu May 01 1997 13:33
Hi Gang!
I have a customer who has a problem with the dcecp acl replace command. It
does not appear to work. I have not been able to figure out how to get
it to work either. We have been able to change the acls on an object using
acl_edit.
Customer has DCE 2.0a running on Digital UNIX 4.0.
The customer has the desired new ACL's for an object in a file. According
to the "DCE Administration Guide - Core
Components", Chapter 28, Section 28.5, "Generating ACLs From Files", the
form for replacing an ACL using data from a file is:
acl replace /.:/carl [ cat new_acl ]
This returns an error:
Error: Ambiguous argument '': -acl -cell -entry -ic -io -type
Tried:
dcecp> acl replace -e /.:/carl -acl [ cat new_acl ]
This does not return any error messages but the acl on the object remains
unchanged.
Am I doing something wrong? (Besides not using acl_edit?)
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
