Our customer use DCE V2.0 and DU V4.0(include patch). Suddenly dce_login failed. # dce_login cell_admin xxxx Sorry. Password Validation Failure. - status 0x14129001 (dce / krb) And then, when reboot system, secd fail to start and core dumped. secd.log is the below. -------------------------------------- 1997-04-11-10:22:10.475+09:00I429.497 secd FATAL sec rs_mainthr rs_main.c 648 0x 3ffc01834c8 Replica cannot get local host identity Client's entry in database has expired -------------------------------------- Does anyone know the meaning of error and how to recover this ? Don't know what could be going on here, but you might try a
'dcesetup clean' before trying the start.

Customer clovered and re-configered, and dce works now.
I have to report the meanings of error(dce_login, secd ) to customer.
Please let me know about them.

We use Digital DCE V2.0a (Rev. 515) for Digital UNIX (V4.0 464 alpha). Testing our replication concept, we've build a small cell. One machine runs both the security and CDS master, another machine both the security and CDS Replica server. To test the failover we stop the DCE services on the master machine and rerun our application server/client processes. After testing we restart the DCE services on the master machine. This works fine for a few stop/start cycles until we get the following error when restarting the DCE services. ----- 1997-04-16-14:29:56.279+02:00I429.497 secd FATAL sec rs_mainthrrs_main.c 538 0x3ffc01834c8 Cannot initialize server database Decrypt integrity check failed ----- To stop/start DCE services we use dcesetup (command 3/4). dcesetup clean doesn't help to make things work.
