    I have a customer that is running into a problem with V1.1C with
    DCEsetup Remote Configuration.  Customer told me this worked under
    V1.1b.  Any ideas?

    Customer's Explaination:
    

The problem I've encountered is related to performing a two-step client config
using the DCE Director Host Configuration option in conjunction with the 
DCEsetup Remote Configuration option. The following two files are a print 
dump of the NT Registry for host config info for both a full client config and
a remote config. The first is the full config. Hope this helps.

	It would help to know what the error was and when it occurred. Was it during the DCE Director Add Host portion or the client's DCEsetup Remote Configuration portion? Thanks. Laura

	Good point, the problem is the DCE doesn't restart correctly after a configuration. Missing hostname, address, ... I've asked the customer for the exact error messages... However, should the Registry have blank entries with a Remote Client Config? Thanks Powell

	Here is an update from the customer: Powell, there was no error. The message comes up that DCE has configured sucessfully! Both the "Configure Host" and the "Remote Configuration" indicated that there were no problems. The problem is in the "Remote Configuration" from DCEsetup. It is not adding the configuration information to the HostConfiguration subtree in the NT Registry. This option quit working in 1.1C. Hope this helps. Thanks Powell Digital Customer Support Center

	Powell, I wonder if the HostConfiguration information was put under a separate key beneath the DCERuntimeServices key during the upgrade to denote the new version number. Have him dump the contents of the CurrentVersion key (not its subkey - HostConfiguration). There's a value in there which denotes the version to be used. Also, take a look at the contents of the DCERuntimeServices key itself; there should be a new key for the 1.1C kit - something like V1.1.x - check beneath that for a new HostConfiguration key. Is DCE functional on this system? Laura

	Customer dump information: Thanks Powell Powell, I'm including a dump of everything from the registry below the Digital Equipment branch. It should include all the info fields engineering asked about. Regarding the question if DCE is functional: the DCE autostart runs when booted but only starts the RPC and CDSAdvertiser processes. If you run DCEsetup it shows that all clients are disabled but that RPC and CDSAdv are running. Also, the cell name is not displayed in the DCE Services Status box. 	I just wanted to add a status to this note. It appears that the remote configuration will fail if the user disables integrated login. Enabling integrated login will allow the remote configuration to work fine. Dale Selby CSC Atlanta
