Hi Gang! Note 1488.3 indicates that DCE 2.0 does not support DFS replication. Is this correct? If so, isn't this in conflict with the DCE V2.0 SPD which states that it is fully compliant with OSF DCE R1.1 specifications? The reason I ask this is that: 1) I have a customer who is having problems with DFS replication. If it is not supported then it is not supported. 2) If not supported then he will check the OSF DCE R1.1 specification. If DFS replication is in the specification he will demand it. Thank you, Carl Reese CSC/Colorado Springs.

2184.1 | No DFS fileset replication in Digital DCE 2.0 | SMURF::STRANGE | Steve Strange, UNIX Filesystems | Wed Mar 12 1997 15:14 | 11 |
re: .0 Digital DCE 2.0 does not support DFS fileset replication. Although DCE 2.0 is compliant with the R1.1 specifications, we do not support the enhanced DFS features. This is also true of HP last I knew. Only IBM ships enhanced DFS, using the Episode physical file system. IBM ships this on AIX and on Solaris (well, their subsidiary, Transarc, ships on Solaris).
