Hi I have a customer that has install nt1.1b on four systems and is experienceing the following problem. Immediately after system startup it is possible to login to the DCE cell. Shortly afterwards the Autostart DCE service which is set to Automatic will stop. Within a few minutes any attempt to use any of the NT tools or control panel applets will fail with the following error message - "The RPC server is unavailable". There are no relevant DEC DCE service or service control manager error in the System or Application logs. Any clues etc would be appricated regards Adrian Morrisson [Posted by WWW Notes gateway]

> error message - "The RPC server is unavailable". There is a problem with the UDP protocol on NT4.0. The DCE group is trying to get a patch from Microsoft. Until then limit the protocol to only tcp by setting the following environment variable via the control panel - System RPC_SUPPORTED_PROTSEQS=ncacn_ip_tcp garry |
