Hello friends I've got two customer complaining about the same problem. I could reproduce the problem locally if I use a german version of NT. (I know it's silly to use a german NT version, but...) NT4.0 german (Build 1381) workstation DCE 1.1b and 1.1c (prerelease) The NT can boot, but no DCE service is started. After a while we get a message saying the dcestart.exe crashed: If I start dce in dcesetup with the option start, everything starts fine. - What's the difference between dcestart and dcesetup->start ? - Are there any dependencies in the starting of the dcestart ? ( I couldn't find a dependency in the regedt32, but I'm not a NT guru) Any comment appreciated Thanks Marco

Hi Marco, Does the same problem occur with both the 1.1b and 1.1c code? What's the configuration on this system - client/server, - dts? - integrated login? - etc? Thanks, Laura | |||||

Laura, This happens with 1.1b and the 1.1 code. i'm pretty sure that it is not depending on the configuration. But I'll test more on that asap. Right now the system is configured as Client DTS Clerk, integrated login disabled ! Marco |
