Also any clues to when 1.1c is to be released would be appreicated?

6.80 | Digital DCE V1.1C for Windows NT now available | TUXEDO::BARWISE | | Mon Mar 24 1997 13:43 | 148 |
| We are pleased to announce the availability of:
Digital DCE Runtime Services V1.1C for Windows NT
Digital DCE Application Developer's Kit V1.1C for Windows NT
Digital DCE Cell Directory Server V1.1C for Windows NT
Digital DCE Security Server V1.1C for Windows NT
Version 1.1C of DCE for Windows NT is based entirely on the OSF DCE
Release 1.0.3 code base, including the OSF DCE RPC runtime. Earlier
versions of the product (Versions 1.1, 1.1A, and 1.1B) were layered on
top of the Microsoft RPC runtime. This is no longer the case for
Version 1.1C. However, most applications built with previous versions
should continue to run unmodified on V1.1C.
DCE for Windows NT Version 1.1C includes the DCE Security and Cell
Directory Service (CDS) servers required to allow you to create complete
DCE cells based on Windows NT systems. Earlier versions (1.1, 1.1A,
and 1.1B) of the Security and CDS Server kits will not work on systems
with Version 1.1C Runtime Kit.
The DCE for Windows NT Version 1.1C product also provides several Digital
value-added features complementing the standard OSF DCE R1.0.3 services,
including:
- DCEsetup, a Windows-based DCE cell configuration utility
- DCE Director, a Windows-based DCE management tool
- Visual ACL Editor, a Windows-based ACL management tool
- Remote DCE Client Configuration
- Integration between Windows NT Login and the dce_login facility
- C++ extensions to the IDL compiler and runtime
- Name Service Interface Daemon (NSID)
- Generic Security Service API (GSSAPI)
- RPC Event Logger Utility
- DTS Time Provider executables
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Due to royalty tracking requirements, the DCE for Windows NT
V1.1C kit will not be available on the internal network. If you
would like to implement DCE for Windows NT V1.1C internally you can
obtain a kit by sending the attached form to SSB, or call them at
DTN 264-4446. A small internal transfer charge will be charged
to your cost center.
Additionally, if you need loaner kits for customer evaluations,
these products are available for software loan through your
country loaner program.
