This note hasn't been active for over three years.
Does anyone have a recommendation for a reliable place to have my vcr
cleaned? Someone in the metrowest area would be best. Also, what does
"pro" cleaning cost these days?

Be careful of the $29.95 cleaning specials. These often are the "lets
insert a cleaning tape" types of deals. A good cleaning will include a
wet clean of both the heads and tape path, a good examination of all of
the rubber parts, and an alignment check. Typical cost is $40-$50. If
parts are recommended (idlers/belts) the cost will be higher.
