Hi, I just want to know on which operating system the SDL product is available. DIGITAL OpenVMS V6.2 ? DIGITAL OpenVMS V7.1 ? DIGITAL UNIX V3.2 ? DIGITAL UNIX V4.0 ? I use SDL to generate "C" and "ADA" files. Thanks, Pascal.

>I just want to know on which operating system the SDL product is available. First of all, there is no SDL *product*. There's just the internal tool with inadequate support that we now happen to ship on the Freeware CD with OpenVMS. > DIGITAL OpenVMS V6.2 ? > DIGITAL OpenVMS V7.1 ? > DIGITAL UNIX V3.2 ? > DIGITAL UNIX V4.0 ? There are versions available for the OpenVMS releases mentioned above and for both VAX and Alpha. I know of no SDL versions that run on Unix. | |||||

I regularly had a UNIX build triggering an SDL run on a local OpenVMS node, and then pulling across the results for use in the rest of the UNIX build. (One could also use NFS for this access, obviously.) The current version of SDL -- on the OpenVMS freeware CD-ROM -- works on most (all?) recent OpenVMS releases. |
