585.0. "URGENT folklore query please" by SEDOAS::ROBINSON_V () Fri Jun 16 1995 12:43

    Can anyone help with this query??

    I have just received a postcard from my boyfriend traveling around
    and I need to know what is being implied (if anything!)
    (If it is not a happy story - I'll exert bodily damage to him!)

    I have been to the libraries to find out if they had anything on Norse
    mythology (just any type of story for the following)
    for this story or legend and they don't.

    It is about Princess Aventyret. Story on the card says:-

    Scene of the old Nordic legand of Princess Aventyret the fifth,
    Princess V for short. Princess V travelled widely from her native
    land, and she stayed for a time in the Land of Many Beads. In fact she
    stayed there so long, that her hair grew long enough to reach the rock
    on which she would often sit, contemplating life, the creatures she
    met, and the patterns of the pebbles around her. One day, Harnstuk
    happened across Princes V on her favourite rock, and because she looked
    so forlorn, he called his wife, his best friend and this daughter
    Timsooka to see if they could help her.

    THEN he wrote on the card - Do you remember the rest??? WELL NO I
    DON'T!!! Who knows what sublte message this is telling me if
    anything. And it's driving me crazy.

    Anyone heard of it? Hope you are able to help my sanity!

585.1Have you asked in the newsgroup?TLE::SAVAGETue Jun 20 1995 11:543
    If this is truly urgent you may want to post your query in the
    newsgroup, soc.culture.nordic. The newsgroup is accessible to the
    whole world and a lot more active (popular) than this conference.
