I have compiled some pages which might be of interest to the
subscribers of this list. Here is some information:

1, The Swedish Page, containing links to servers and pages in Sweden.
    The address is:
                http://www.algonet.se/~nikos/swedish.html

    2. Nordic News and Media. News and Newspapers/magazines from the 5
Nordic countries. You will find links to the three Swedish dailies
currently on the Internet. The URL of the page:
           http://www.algonet.se/~nikos/nordmed.html

    3. There is also a Nordic News and Media 2 - page pointing to
Computer and Technology Magazines, Campus Press, some of the
    Swedish/Nordic e-zines, etc:
           http://www.algonet.se/~nikos/nordmed2.html

    4. Finally, there is a Nordic Page, with general links to main servers
    at the Nordic Countries:
          http://www.algonet.se/~nikos/nordic.html

The pages are in English, but most of the links are in the
    Nordic languages.

You are welcome to visit the pages and e-mail suggestions and
    comments after your visit.

The pages are located on a server in Stockholm.

Michael E Willett ([email protected]) asked "Are there any WWW servers
    on the Faroe Islands?"

There's one WWW server running in the Faroes at the moment, but I don't
think there's general access to it yet.

The university and the other institutions on the campus got an Internet
connection this winter, so it all very new there.

A little bit about the Faroes:

    http://fys.ku.dk/~sparre/Foeroyar (Europe) and
    http://www.pitt.edu/~sparre/Foeroyar (America)

    Newsgroups: soc.culture.nordic
Subject: New webserver: ODIN, Official Documentation and Information from
    Norway
    Date: 4 Aug 1995 17:04:09 GMT
Organization: ODIN editorial staff, Government Administration Services

    < URL:http://odin.dep.no/ >

ODIN, Official Documentation and Information from Norway, is a joint
electronic publication for information from the Government and the
    ministries.

ODIN was launched on 1 August 1995 and is a pilot project scheduled to
run until the end of 1996.

In ODIN, you'll find news from Cabinet meetings, press releases,
speeches, documents from the Norwegian administration and more. It
is possible to search in all the documents on ODIN.

The purpose of ODIN is to make information and news from the ministries
available electronically on the Internet. The aim is to use modern
information technology to make central government services more open
    and accessible.

ODIN is primarily for Norwegian speaking users, but there is a rapidly
expanding "ODIN in English" section too.

On behalf of the editorial staff,

Swede-l readers are invited to serve as frskskaniner (guinea pigs,
    that is).

The Swedish Information Service of the Swedish Consulate in New York
has a new Web Site, and they would appreciate it if the Swede-l gang
would take a look at it and give them any appropriate feedback before
its "official" release on October 1.

The site contains lots of goodies of interest to Swede-l readers in
    North America, such as:

-Info about SIS publications (online ordering available)
-Information about Swedish and Swedish-American media
-Addresses to Swedish consulates and honorary consulates in the US
    -Consular information (visas, etc.)
-Information about educational exchanges and related publications
-Links to various Swedish and Swedish-American sites on the internet.

Please check it out at http://www.webcom.com/sis/

There are e-mail links within the Web site that you can use to send any
    comments to SIS.

Now we take you on a journey to Sweden, where you'll participate in a
search for The Great Lake Monster. Seems the people around Lake
Storsjon have been seeing "an outgrown, mutated lizard or a species of
fish that shouldn't be there." Read about the upcoming expedition and
see pictures of the local area and inhabitants. Nessie, eat your
    (possibly fictitious) heart out.
