I will be coming to Stockholm Feb 1, for work and am planning to take vacation time to see some of Sweden and Finland. This will be a short trip - what would you recommend to see ? (At this point, the old town part of Stockholm sounds good and Rauma sounds intriguing.) Is it better to take the ferry or fly between countries ? Any suggestions for things to see, do, and buy; hotels and places to eat are appreciated ! Thanks ! Jon

4 years ago.. The ferry was cheap, novel (baltic was ice bound in feb), nearly as fast (the plane takes about 4-5 hours after the waiting, drive to and from the airports, flight time (0.5h), baggage, etc) ferry takes 12 hours overnight (most of which you are asleep anyway). Silja line used to be a little more up market than the Viking line. Andy | |||||
