I'm trying to find out about a Swedish song .... I assume it's relatively recent, from the last few years or so, but I'm not sure?! I heard it when I was on holiday in Cyprus ... in Ayia Napa (could have been Stockholm because it was thriving with Swedish people!). It has obviously been quite a bit disco hit in Sweden/Scandanavia and the only part of it I could make out was the chorus which goes something like - Somea-tles Hey Hey ... Soma-telA Excuse the absolutely terrible mess of expressing the Swedish, but the only othe word I know is Hej! Has anybody got any idea what this song could be ... who it is by ????? Cheers Brian (Software Product Services - Scotland)

I think I recognize it as being a song called "Sommartider" (or possibly "Sommartiden") meaning "Summertime", which was a big hit many years ago (10?). I *think* it was by the group Gyllene Tider, who was led by Per Gessle, now half of Roxette. Let's see if someone will correct me... Hans

Thanks Hans .... Is there any way of finding out if it is still available ..?? Perhaps I could write to a large reocrd store in Stockholm, if someone gave me an address ?? Would they understand English ? Most of the Swedish people I have come across so far have spoken exeptional English! Swedish music seems to be really coming out into the world scene. I went to see Roxette on Saturday and they were absolutely brilliant. Are there any more good Swedish bands waiting to take the world by storm also?? Cheers Brian

Case closed: A tape containing the Swedish song heard in Cyprus has been located in Norway and will be sent to Scotland. That's Digital networking for you! Henrik |
