| Have to tried the contacts listed in Note 2? Specifically the
Scandinavian Tourist Boards in NYC?
From brouchures I've collected:
Turku Music Festival - probably ends on or before August 17
Tampere Theatre Summer - performances by theatre companies;
may also be winding down by August 17
Helsinki Festival - Orchestral concerts, art, cinema,
ballet, theatre, opera. Billed as "the largest
continous cultural event held in Scandinavia."
Perhaps your best bet as it typically starts up
at just about your end date - goes through the
first week in September.

Thanks. I just called the Scandinavian Tourist Board this morning, although
they weren't sure they had an events listing. I'm hoping someone from the
area, or someone who's visited there, might know of something of interest that
doesn't make it into the tourist literature.

| Hi,
You can put a note in EEMELI::FNO. That is the notesfile at FNO in
Finland. It is in Finnish, but they welcome English. A lot of people
there are probably on vacation now, so you may not get a lot of
answers.

I met my whife at a Folk Song/Dance/Music festival
in Kaustinen some years ago, and it was on early to
mid August. Dont know if it's still on.
