323.0. "Holidays in Finland" by GVAADG::PERINO (Joel PERINO @GEO) Fri Mar 17 1989 12:16

	I succedeed in convincing my wife and friends of ours to go to
	FINLAND in july instead of going as everybody in TURKEY or some
	hot and sunny country. I told them that FINLAND can be very hot in July.
	It's right. Isn't it ? In fact they just said "why not" So I must
	make the project as concrete as possible ASAP.

	It's already planned to go to Finland by the FINN-JET (Travemunde-
	Helsinki) by car. What I am looking for is an house for about 10
	people, say near a fishfull lake not too far from Helsinki (less than
	250kms) for the 15 first days of July.

	Every tips, address or concrete proposal are welcome.

	Thanks - Jol

323.1Cottages for rent.HSKAPL::RTLEINOTapio Leino / MIU / FNOThu Mar 23 1989 01:1113
    There is a firm called Lomarengas Oy, which rents cottages etc.
    The cottages are of quite good quality, but quite impersonal too
    (being only for rental purposes). I think most of the cottages have
    TV's and electricity, but I think you could find one without them
    too, if you are interested.

    I would suggest for you to change places for the next week and spend
    the weekend (in between the weeks) in a hotel in some of the cities.

    Lomarengas address: Museokatu 3, SF-00100 HELSINKI, Finland.

    Tapio,

	Thanks for the address and the suggestion. I will use both. It seems
	that my plans are in a good way to be realized.

323.3Sometimes it is hot and sometimes not.HSKAPL::RTLEINOTapio Leino / MIU / FNOSat Mar 25 1989 11:106

    I guess you will have no trouble with the weather and the temp
    either. In -86 and -87 Finland was one of the hottest places in
    Europe in the beginning of july. I spent the first two weeks of
    july in Italy last year, and you can imagine my frustration
    as the temp in Finland was 28-31 C and in Italy only 25 C.

	If you like, you can also make questions in our local conference.

	You can very well use English.

	If interested, just KP7 etc.
