Add to the list:
- SKF, the world's largest ball-bearing manufacturer;
- Husqvarna, makers of the best (arguably) chain saws in the world;
- Astra, the fastest growing company in the world during 1994, and
one of the leading farmaceutical companies;
- Elektrolux, the world's largest manufacturer of home appliances.
And note the following:
- ABB was a merger between the world's two largest companies in their
field, obviously now the largest manufacturer of heavy industrial
appliances;
- Ericsson is the world's leading supplier of cellular communications
infrastructure;
- SAAB, in addition to building cars, also builds trucks, airplanes,
and specialized computers, which makes it a pretty unique company;
supposedly it is also the _smallest_ car manufacturer in the world.
