253.0. "VAX does civic duty in Sweden" by TLE::SAVAGE (Neil, @Spit Brook) Wed Jan 20 1988 16:22

According to a sales booklet entitled "Digital's VMS Software:
    Elegantly Simple" [pages 22 & 23], Sweden's 349-member parliament, or
"Riksdag," began using VAXen in 1985. By the end of 1987, the Riksdag
system included: a local area network with a kilometer of Ethernet
cable, two VAX 8530s, 35 LN03 laser printers, and 150 users in two
    buildings.

The administrative offices of the Liberal Party has purchased its own
VAX system and plans to link to the Riksdag system by phone line.

The Riksdag administrative staff anticipates increasingly automating
the production of some 50,000 pages of documentation issued yearly. The
booklet quotes Carl-Gerhard Ulfhielm, head of MIS, as saying "We put
typographical codes in the text and send it to the printer."

Does anyone know if 'typographical codes' refers DSR or VAX DOCUMENT?

253.1The Danes do itCOP01::STSOutlawThu Jan 21 1988 09:147
The Danish Parliament currently have two VAX 8530 and a third is
about to be added to the cluster. The total system is planned for
appr. 400 workplaces using ALL-IN-1 from a mixture of (currently)
    VTs and VAXmates.

I can't remember much more about it, but I could dig up some more
    info if anyone are interested.

To my knowledge the Swedish Parliament is using All-in-1 with WPS+
I don't think they have any special software around...
