I am looking for a particular recording of Icelandic folk music. Perhaps somebody here can suggest how I can find it besides travelling to Iceland. It is an audio tape, titled in English "Icelandic Folk Songs". The rest of the label is printed in Icelandic. The tape is number FK032 on the "Flkinn" label.

With that much information about the record, you could probably order it at any reasonably good sized record store. I've ordered rare (or hard to find here) records before, and they always come through. Just a suggestion. -Jerry

If you can't get it locally just let me know and I'll ask the next person who goes to Iceland to bring it back. (Iceland si in the Danish sales territory)

Or I can get you the address of the outlet - one of the bigger music shops in Reykjavk also. If you like Icelandic folk songs (with a twist), I would recommend also getting Thursaflkkurinn (I can't wait until LATIN-1 so I don't have to spell the Icelandic 'Thorn' with Th!). This group is (was) extremely creative in taking old folk visurs and chants putting them to some incredible music. Their last album was debut-ed with the Icelandic ballet. I have two albums of theirs and really wish they were still together. \rikki |
