Stockholm May Sell Building to Recoup Stock Market Loss
STOCKHOLM, Sweden (AP) - The city of Stockholm is considering
selling one of its downtown office buildings to offset the loss of
$70 million in city funds gambled away by a city official on the
stock market, an official said Tuesday.
The 28-year-old speculator, whose name was not released, was
fired from his job but was not prosecuted, according to Jan-Erik
Torsell, acting head of the Finance Department.
The stock market loss cost the city about two percent of its
budget.

As far as i know the building hasn't been sold. This thing is
interesting though. The thing i am interested in is if this "affair"
with the 289-years old man has been mentioned before in this notesfile
or has i just misst it?
As according to swedish law the speculation the 28 years old man
did was'nt illegal in any way. But som other people had to resign
due to this "affair".
By the way thanks for an interesting conference, this gives poeple
outside Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland and Iceland a good opurtunity
to knew something about the nordic countries. I know there are a
lot of American people, (not reading thic conference, that beleives
that in Swden there are always snow and the icebears are walking
the streats.
