185.0. "Cities Revisited, Relived?" by USFHSL::ROYER (Dave ROYER, KZO, dtn 454-3335) Wed Jan 21 1987 10:54

Let me begin with an Introduction, I am David Royer, an American
by birth. I first stopped in Scandanavia at Bergen, Norge in
1960. I was in the Navy at the time. I later stopped in
Stavanger, Trondheim, Copenhagen, and Oslo. I guess that my first
love is Bergen. On my first visit I spent the first day just walking
around. I never got lost later! Bergen always felt comfortable
to me and very friendly. In the year that I spent 45 days in
port. I got to be able to understand the language, and was able
to read the newspaper. (not every word naturally) But I was
comfortable there. Later I met some people involved with
reincarnation (I am not sure I believe as I am CHRISTIAN "LUTHERAN")
and that would explain the love that I have for your lovely
corner of the world. God made Scandanavia cold and rugged so that
all the people would not gather there.

Anyone else who reads these notes have any feelings about reincarnation
and feel more at home in another town than your home town?
    Just curious.

I also found Belfast, Northern Ireland very easy, and In Salzburg,
Austria I drove to the center of the city and took a tour from the
parking lot where I parked. Worst city in the world for me is
Wurzberg, Germany I stayed lost there and had to ask directions
    on every corner.

I am from Boston (2nd generation) and have relatives from
England, France, Denmark, and mostly from Ireland.

Strange as it may seem, I too have had similar circumstances while
in Europe. Every time I go to Ireland I get a strange sensation
when my feet touch ground outside the airport - kind of like a very
mild jolt of electricity that lasts about 2 minutes. I fly pretty
regularly and it doesn't happen elsewhere.

Also in various parts of France (especially in Normandy) I've
experienced "dj vu" where I am very comfortable with the
surroundings and environment, almost as if I had been there
    before.

    Call me crazy!

    Jurgen,

No umlaute on this vt100, sorry. I guess then we are not alone.
Just like going home.. wonder how many others. I also like the
American Southwest..ie New Mexico, Arizona, Texas. I am not
from there I was born in Michigans upper Penisula. I have never
    been able to explain it.

    Thanks for the reply.

i don't known what being a christian have to do with believing in
reincarnation[nothing i suspect].To begin with you might read "out
on the limb" and someting by Baba Ram Das [ one of the first books
by him is "Remember be here now"] although i love snow and skiing
i have felt at home on every island i ever visited[from Bermuda
to Hawaii] because i know my previous life was on "New "Guinea".
very intersting..this time around i started in a small village in
    Finland.

VERY GOOD COMMENT, I have read a lot of the Edgar Cayce series.
his are very interesting and I suspect quite true. If Indeed
reincarnation is possible then I quite probable was a Viking.
Also An African in another one...nothing of note that I can
Put my fingers on..I have dreamed tho..of buckling on a set
of guns. No, never anything more Just putting on a set of Guns.
Two guns. I have had this happen many times. Also while living
in A hotel In Pirmasens-Nord, Germany, I had the feeling that
my body was floating when I forced my eyes to open I dropped
to the bed..could have been a couple of inches..4-5cm or it
could have been nothing, I do not really know.

Aside from whether or not reincarnation exists, I feel that from
my experiences [of travelling in Europe] that I somehow have been
passed information from my ancestors concerning their environments.
I don't know what this concept is called, but wonder if others have
    also given this a thought.

    George,

Since my ancesters all come from Quebec...France. ca1600. I do
not think that I could be influenced by them regarding Scandanivia,
or Ireland. Who Knows what else..My family has always stayed in
the Mid-west USA except for Myself.. I have gone Nearly everywhere
in the Northern Hemisphere. (even less than 200 miles from
    Mermansk, USSR.

    Traveling is My favorite passtime.
