182.0. "Gus Dahlstrm" by NETMAN::MORIN (TRAVELIN MAN) Fri Jan 09 1987 22:30

    My wife's greatuncle is Gus Dalhstrom from Stockholm. He used to
    be a Swedish actor in a stage show in Stockholm. I was wondering
    if any DEC employees have seen the show? I met him here in America
    two years ago, he was a very amusing with his ventrilloquism. Would
    appreciate any comments.

182.1Sure, I've seen him!STKTSC::AHLGRENMon Jan 12 1987 03:3622
    Gus Dahlstr\m is a rather know actor in Sweden. He has for many
    years been a part of a show called "Crazy". He has also done many
    films. Never as leading actor, but as a co-star. Normally he does
    comic acts but the one I remember the best was in a film by Bo
    Widerberg called "Mannen p] taket" (The man on the roof).
    It's the best action-thriller ever made by a Swedish director.
    It's a story about a man that starts to kill people from a roof in
    Stockholm. He is a former police officer, but got fired (I think)
    because of bad behavior. Gus is playing the officers father and he
    does it really well. I've seen him in some other films but I can't
    remember which ones. As most comedians he is best in his "serious"
    acts.

    If someone wants to know more about the movie (and the book), please
    read the book by Maj Sj\vall and Per Wahl\\. It's called "Den
    vederv[rdige mannen fr]n S[ffle" (The repugnant man from Saeffle)
    and is a tremendous book. I know that the book has been translated
    to english,so try it out.

    Paul,

    	I would like to thank you for your response. My wife's family
    still has a lot of ties to Sweden and I intend to print it for my
    children to keep their Scandinavian Hertiage alive. As a matter
    of fact my Father-in Law Gus's nephew is a Dec employee.

    Regards
