I am studying the possibility to implement a software package LISP written being able to trace back English words giving their Old Norse equivalent. The idea is to get a LISP program in a way that given an input text in modern English it could compose the Middle English and Old English versions from where the Icelandic version may be achieved. Later phase will be tracing back from Icelandic the Old Norse generating terms. Reverse process will be studied later on. Just need: * Liveware: People with lots of experience in Icelandic and/or Old Norse. People with a grasp knowledge in LISP. * Resources: A good (the best known) Icelandic-English dictionary. A set of spoken Icelandic tapes (I will pay for the former and the latter). My goal? Just helping people interested in death languages to get a fair idea of how they used the language and opening the door to reconstruct the protoindoeuropean verb system. Anyone interested or wishing to help me?
