| In the south, yes.
In the north, it gets light in the spring and dark in the fall.

| I once read that between the heavy overcast and the short daylight
period, Sweden (between the latitude of Gothenburg and Stockholm)
averages about 8 to 9 hours of sunshine for the entire month of
December.

Where I was, the sun stopped rising on November 27th and didn't
rise again until January 27th. The darkest time was right around
Christmas. To get your daily needs for vitamin D, we took Cod Liver
Oil every day, but you may taste it all day long. There was plenty
of snow for reflected light, and the northern lights every night
made the darkness worth it.

-< Northern lights >-
Ok that we live far up north, but it isn't THAT dark! An example,
right now the sun is up between 08:00 and 16:00 (Stockholm). Up
in the northern part of the country (Norrbotten) the day is as short
as 4 hours.
Another thing, when they say that it's about 8-9 hours of sunshine
during december. This means really sunshine and not sunlight. Which
means that the weather normally isn't too good!!!!
I can tell you that the cold is much worse than the light.
Today's temperature in Stockholm are -20 degrees Celsius (-4
Fahrenheit).
In Norrbotten has a temeperature of -40 degrees Celsius (-40
Fahrenheit).
So just feel lucky you aren't here

| Last few days in Helsinki have been -35 C.
Add a fresh humid breeze from the sea to it - and have fun!
