Cranes dance
April is said to be a time of drama in Sweden, as spring advances
northward to break the grasp of winter. In the province of
V�sterg�tland, over on the West Coast, one of the most dramatic scenes
involves immense flocks of cranes on their annual migration to northern
breeding grounds.
Pausing in their journey to rest in the fields around Falk�ping and
Skara, the cranes mystify many a sightseer with their strange,
awe-inspiring "dance." Each dawn, thousands of cranes leave Lake
Hornborgasj�n for the fields, and fly back to the lake again at dusk -
a fascinating sight!
