DECmug will be hosting Symantec Corporation this Thursday in the Babbage
Auditorium in ZKO1. Since there will already be a meeting in Babbage before
DECmug, setup will not start until 5:00.

Symantec Corporation will show and discuss their programming languages and
tools. Think Pascal provides one of the best development environments for the
Macintosh, and Think C has become one of the most popular languages for
creating Macintosh applications.

The THINK Pascal environment is unique with its language sensitive editor that
parses your source code while writing your application. Pascal supports Object
Oriented Programming.

THINK C, while not fully supporting C++, does support a whole set of class
libraries. THINK C uses no pre-processor for object oriented support.

The THINK tools, unlike Apples MPW, are bundled with the compiler. The class
libraries are smaller and faster than Apple's; better they are free.

Both C and Pascal offer a source level debugger with all the tools that we find
in our VMS debugger, except these are using windowing GUI's making debugging
much easier.

This presentation will cover all the tools and we will have an engineer
available for technical questions.
