I am looking for benchmarks and other run_time performances of MANTIS and
COBOL on VAX machines. A customer is looking for machines to run his
bureau service( mainly service call management). Currently they have
2,000 transactions per day with 30,000 equipments. The growth rate for
this figure is about 50 % a year. The system is a real-time system
running solely on disk files. The application is written in MANTIS and
COBOL consisting of 85 programs, 75 screens and 40 files. The programs
are approximately 34,000 lines of codes. On-line services are using MANTIS
and batch services are using COBOL programs. They use the application on
IBM 3081 currently. They are planning to migrate this application to VAX.
If anyone has any information around performances on VAX8800 or VAX6200,
please advise.
