143.0. "KEEP and DATABUS information notation (DIN)" by VLNVAX::DMCLURE (Gear up for DECworld-87!) Fri Jun 19 1987 01:47

The issue of programming languages has been rave of The New
Soapbox recently, I thought I might share this note here as both a
mention of the new KEEP system, as well as to act as a pointer to
   another programming language 'discussion'.

So, anybody tried programming in DIN yet? DIN stands for DATABUS
Information Notation and it is a semantic database language which,
together with its supporting KEEP data system, provides users with
a natural, powerful, and concise way of describing and manipulating
data structures that accurately reflect the user's conceptual view of
    the application.

KEEP stands for Knowledge Environment for Evolving Projects and
it is a data-management system for storing and manipulating complex
engineering-information structures at the application concept level.
It is intended for DEC internal use only.

KEEP V 1.nn implements a subset of the DATABUS Architecture,
which is being developed by the Center for Systems Development Process
(CSDP) right here at MR01, and I highly reccomend the class which they
offer. To register for the KEEP course, contact Nancy Cross (at
MODEL::CROSS), or, if you're just curious, be sure to check out the
notesfile KEEPER::KEEP (Press KP7 to 'Get on the BUS').
