124.0. "battle of the self-modifiers" by CSSAUS::MOSS (cogito cogito ergo cogito sum.) Wed Jan 21 1987 07:41
It has been suggested in the WAR STORIES notesfile that we hold
a similar contest to note 99 - the battle of the languages,
only with the goal being to provide the "cleverest" piece of
self-modifying code. This (probably) counts out lots of pascal,
ada, etc etc programmers, but those of you who use teco, cobol,
fortran, list, prolog etc... (and macro of course) should have
examples of how (NOT) to program.
Append all those 'clever' tricks you've longed to show off for years...

124.1 | More than an editor, an adventure! | WAAF::APPELLOF | Carl J. Appellof | Wed Jan 21 1987 09:01 | 12 |
| AH! You mentioned my favorite programming language: TECO. TPU doesn't
even come close in its possibilities for cleverness. I hereby
contribute the following TECO macro from the MATH notes file with
credit to Stan Rabinowitz.
