I'm seeking information on automated tools that could be used in
a Databus ---> VAX COBOL conversion. Any pertinent comments
from those experienced with such a conversion would be .....

| 101.1 | to convert - rewrite? | CSSE32::PHILPOTT | CSSE/Lang. & Tools, ZK02-1/N71 | Tue Sep 02 1986 11:25 | 13 |
| Having programmed in Databus a goodly few years ago, I wish you
    luck :-)

    Actually from my memory I would guess that a conversion to Dibol
    might be easier...

    Anyway, as an off the wall suggestion, the COBOL GENERATOR will
    be available shortly (October?), ... have you considered using the
    generator to re-write the application? I say this because I believe
    that an automatic translation of Databus to anything will tend to
    produce somewhat inefficient code.

| A DATABUS to COBOL converter has recently been developed in Australia and used successfully on a large site. It was developed in Queensland and is being marketed around Australia by WILMA SPEIRS who can be contacted on SNOV17::. Regards, Bob. | |||||
