    During the installation of Visual Fortran V5.0 on Alpha/NT the
    installation fails with:

	Target file D:\WINNT35\System32\*.* is Readonly.
  
    The submission form with the problem is included below, I removed
    the contact information, but can provide it if necessary.

Problem Description:

Installation fails once all options are chosen with the following
message:

	Target file D:\WINNT35\System32\*.* is Readonly.
	Please remove the read-only attribute from the
	target file. Retry?

The target directory is not read-only.

When the installation is started using the debug proceedure and "No"
is selected from the retry prompt the following message is displayed:

	Function on line 1069 returned status = -1

Select one or more to indicate how severe the problem is:

    [ ] Program crashes or hangs
    [ ] Program gets incorrect results at run time
    [ ] Appearance or usability issue
    [ ] Suggestion or documentation error

Steps to reproduce the problem:

     commands as they execute.)

Additional Comments:

The system is configured as part of a Microsoft Network accessing the CDROM from
another PC.  WINNT updates and Visual Basic V5.0 have been installed using this
configuration.

We are currently using the "shrink wrap" version 5.0 on Pentium PC's under
Windows-95.

If your Alpha system is running V1.0 or V1.1 of DIGITAL FX!32, you
need to disable FX!32 while running the Visual Fortran installation.
You may re-enable FX!32 after the Visual Fortran installation has completed.
If you do not, the installation will display an error similar to:

"Target file C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\*.* is read only.  Please remove
 the read-only attribute form the target file.  Retry?"

and the installation will fail.

To disable or enable FX!32, choose the Add/Remove Programs icon from the
Control Panel.  Select FX!32 from the displayed list of applications.
Select Disable FX!32 and Reboot computer now to disable FX!32.
Select Enable FX!32 and Reboot computer now to enable FX!32.
