1154.0. "Forrtl upgrade, symvecmis, fixuperr run-time??" by KERNEL::PULLEY (Come! while living waters flow) Fri Jan 31 1997 06:07

    Hi Folks,

I've a customer using three Alphas, all on OpenVMS v6.2-1h3--in a
    cluster, 2*1000 + a 2100.
He has Fortran v7.0 on a 1000 which he builds the programs on, and runs
    them on the 2100.
He's programs used to work, but now give errors, after upgrading the
Fortran to v7.0 from I'm not sure what.
    The errors he gets are:-
    %imgact-f-symvecmis, ...
    -imgact-f-fixuperr, ... when referencing dec$forrtl
So it looks like different versions of Fortran RTL.

I've asked him to try relinking on the 2100, but am not sure if he
    needs to do something more.
Spotted section 3.7 in the installation manual, but that talks about
    upgrading VMS rather than Fortran.
Although he donly want the run-time on the 2100, does he need to do
something like @sys$update:for$install_forrtl on his 2100?

    Thanks for any suggestions,
    Steve.

At a minimum he needs to do an INSTALL REPLACE SYS$LIBRARY:DEC$FORRTL on each
node of the cluster. If that doesn't help, let us know and we'll take it
from there.

Well the 1000s share a system disk, and have dec$forrtl v01.05-274.
    The 2100 has v01.05-171 I think.
So does he need to copy that file across and install replace?

The same version needs to be on all Alpha nodes of the cluster.
