1152.0. "contributing code to kit" by SEAWLF::FOHLIN () Mon Jan 27 1997 14:43

    How do I contribute code that would appear as an unsupported subset as
    part of the Fortran kit? That would solve a problem for an RFP that
    I'm working on and maybe help other people.

My understanding is that Digital doesn't want us to ship code that we don't
support.

    With the OSF kit, there's at least one CD full of unsupported code.
    Surely there must be a way to add some more. Could someone look into
    the mechanism for contributing code to the Fortran kit?

    Alternatively, how do I add *supported* code to the kit?

   Well, if you read the f77 release notes, there are at least two programs
   "fsplit" and "fpp" that are categorized as "unsupported utilities".

If the opportunity is large enough, CSS might be willing to burn special
CDs tailored just for this specific customer. Alternatively, the field
organization might contract with an outside provider to burn a custom CD
that includes both supported and unsupported software.
