Hello, We have a cusotmer that is trying to debug calls made via dlopen when the shared object is on an NFS mounted partition. He can not do this. He can not do this if they are NFS mounted between 2 digital unix 4.0b machines. Any reasons for this? best regards, Ed haletky Digital CSC

Can you be little more explicit in terms of what does it mean "trying to debug calls made via dlopen when the shared object is on NFS mounted partition". Are you trying to step into shared library functions and that does not work ?? or Are you trying to debug dlopen itself ?? Can you give us the output of the debug session and some commands like listobj ?? Also, output of df showing how the partition is mounted - in terms of pathname constructed would help too. thanks shamim | |||||

Hello, Cusotmer is trying to debug their own shared library objects but can not if the libraries are NFS mounted. They load objects from the shared libraries using dlopen. Unfortunately since it only affects NFS mounted libs they do not NFS mount them anymore. -ed Haletky Digital CSC |
