The status is I went looking for a copy of gem_cc that was debuggable
    and
that showed the results that Dennis qarred, and it wasn't where it
was supposed to be. I've pinged him a few times but he keeps
forgetting. I suppose I could ask someone like Joe Mario for a
debuggable copy and see if I can reproduce it there, but I closed
the QAR on the dbx side due to a lack of reproducer and apparent
    interest.

Did it ever occur to you to ask the person who originally
reported the bug for a reproducer? Are bugs simply closed
when you decide they're too old? I suppose now I'll be told
that it's too late to fix this in PTmin, and I'll have to wait
for Steel. Give me a break!

This bug is still a problem. Bob Monteleone and I have
reproduced it with a new debuggable gemc_cc image. At my
request, Bob has entered QAR 52781 in the OSF_QAR system as
a high priority bug against ladebug. Printing the wrong
name is a serious problem. Please fix it!
235.7don't worry, we'll fix it for you...SMURF::PETERTrigidly defined areas of doubt and uncertaintyWed Apr 30 1997 22:5611
Ah, but I did ask a number of times for a reproducer. Check out
QAR 34169 for the history. The original problem with the reproducer
was that it was not there when originally looked for.

And the problem is suspected with libmld, not ladebug itself. So
    I'll look into it.

And no it's not too late for PTmin.

FWIW, I closed it because the QAR was closed for apparent lack of reproducer. I
put the notice here so you could offer a case for it to be reopened. I'm not
just closing old bugs on a timeout. I'm glad you've been able to reproduce it.
I was not able to do so from the information in the note and the QAR was closed
and archived so I couldn't look there either.

(we are revisiting anything which appears unresolved, in case you can't tell)

235.9Wonder if I did the same thing back then...SMURF::PETERTrigidly defined areas of doubt and uncertaintyFri May 02 1997 12:4613
Well, I've grabbed the debuggable gemc_cc. Of course, the first
time I tried to grab it I got, "no such file or directory".
So I took the mail message I got telling me where it was and did
a cut and paste and got it successfully this time. I checked the
difference between the 2 and I realized I had first tried to
get gem_cc, instead of gemc_cc. And it occured to me that maybe
that was the original reason I hadn't found the reproducer...
Oh well, shoot me if you must. I'm willing to appear foolish,
which is of course how I suspect I appear most of the time
    anyway...
