2086.0. "setenv" by CPEEDY::BRADLEY (Chuck Bradley) Fri Feb 07 1997 13:37

what happened to the rtl routine setenv?

it is documented in help, but it seems to not be in the rtl.

thanks.

:it is documented in help, but it seems to not be in the rtl.

   It's apparently not in the version of the RTL you have (what is the
   OpenVMS version?), but it certainly looks like it's present in the
   DECC$SHR image on OpenVMS Alpha V7.1.

   See http://hndymn.zko.dec.com/~crtl/when_functions_were_released.html
   for a table that maps C routines to OpenVMS releases. (Something like
   this table should be buried in the C and/or OpenVMS manuals, too...)

thanks for the quick reply.
we build on vms 6.1. we have to run on 5.5, 6.1, 6.2, 7.0, and 7.1,
so having setenv in the later sharable image libraries is not enough.

i already had a replacement routine when i entered .0.
i thought someone might want to know.

setenv was added for v7.0 according to the table.

thanks for the pointer to
