4110.0. "NO-BAKE RECIPES NEEDED" by ADOV01::BOLTONJOHN () Tue Aug 27 1996 04:35

    Folks,
    	A dear friend of ours works in a Nursing Home here in Adelaide,
    South Australia. She provides therapy sessions for aged patients
    suffering from Alzeimers. One of her activities is to give them
    "cooking lessons" to stimulate their senses. To do this she uses
    "no-bake" recipes for obvious reasons. She has exhausted her list of
    no-bake recipes and is looking for more. The type of things that she is
    looking for are easy to make slices etc, however all input would be
    welcomed.
    	If you have any recipes that you could share, I know Lynne can put
    them to good use. Your help is appreciated.

John,

Are you looking for dessert recipes or any kind of no bake recipes?

4110.2Any recipe will do.ADOV01::BOLTONJOHNTue Aug 27 1996 19:226
    Laura,
    	I'm looking for any kind of no-bake recipe. It gives the residents
    a chance to 'feel' the ingredients and a sense of achievement. These
    are people in their 70's & 80's, and they love their cooking days.

4110.3Jello Instant Pudding has lots of recipesREGENT::WOODWARDI'll put this moment...hereWed Aug 28 1996 09:487
    Have you tried the Jello instant pudding pies? I think the recipes
    are on the side of the Jello box. Basically, you make a graham
    cracker crust by crushing graham crackers and mixing them with melted
    butter and forming a crust along the bottom and sides of a pie plate.
    Make the Jello pudding and fold in a bit of Cool Whip. Put that in the
    pie plate. Then layer Cool Whip on top of the pudding. I seem to
    remember using creme cheese in the recipe too.

    You can then also decorate the pies with bits of candy or whatever.
    They might like that part also.

    How about Divinity Candy/Cookies? my mother use to mix these up,
    put them on a cookie sheet by spoonful, sit them in the cold oven,
    let them dry.
