4100.0. "Cappuccino topping" by WOTVAX::WALKERD (David Walker) Mon Jul 15 1996 12:42

    Does anyone know what the powder that is sprinkled on the top of
    Cappuccino Coffees is and where I can get it (in the UK). I have tried
    cocoa powder but that is much too bitter.

    thanks

    David

Cinnamon is often used.

    David,

    I'm not a coffee drinker, but wonder if the powder might be drinking
    chocolate?

    Just a thought

4100.3Grounded cinnammon or cocoaVAXRIO::63198::CSANTOSClaudia Nogueira - CSC/BrazilMon Jul 15 1996 15:5020

	David,

	Last time I went to the US I got a container with Cappuccino
	toppings, that actually brings cocoa and cinammon (you can use one
	or the other). They come granulated and you ground it (you can
	use those little cute salt/pepper thing you find anywhere).

	I don't know where you can find it in UK, but in the US we found
	it in those coffee stores (maybe it helps).

				Good luck

    Ghiradelli makes a ground sweet chocolate that goes very well with
    cappuccino. It's also available from Williams-Sonoma.

    Here in the UK I believe it is either powdered chocolate or cocoa as a
    rule.

    Hi David

    I have only ever seen it in those cappucino "kits" you can but in the
    supermarkets but then I have never really looked. I will try to
    remember to look next time I go to the cash and carry (they'll have it
    if anyone does). Would you like me to get some if I see any or just
    find out the price etc???

    Alternatively, you could just use drinking chocolate but (IMHO) that is
    too sweet.

    Hi David

    I did look but they only do huge jars of cappucino coffee (like tins of
    nescaf etc) but with no topping - I presume then that it must me just
    drinking chocolate they sprinkle on top!

    Sorry, if anyone was going to sell it I thought they would!

    Best regards
