Looking for ideas for a winter picnic. It won't be a tail-gate type picnic, and we'd be walking a little bit into the woods before eating. I was wondering what to use for an eating surface. There will most likely still be snow on the ground. I'll probably have at least 1-2 thermoses for warm drinks, soups. Any food/serving ideas would be appreciated. thanks in advance...

Logs are great if they are available. Otherwise, carry in one or more space blankets to sit on. meg

According to my calendar, winter has passed. I think that theory will need to rethought. Perhaps a Spring Medly? (8^ - Dave PS. On the serious side: Sandwhiches don;t winter well. However, A warm water bottle in the bottom of you picnic basket can keep the bread and such from freezing and the sandwhiches tasting great! The beer or wine bottles neatly toss into the the snow for ample chillage. Good Luck

Old man winter's grip is slipping; this is his last gasp effort. He's no match for the sun. He may get his way for a short time, but by sunday we'll be laughing at him again. |
