    Its a WWW (World wide web) URL. You would access it using a WWW browser
    such as XMosaic (for Motif workstations) or Lynx (for character-cell
    terminals.) There's lots more information, including getting-started
    guides etc., available from the conference LJSRV2::INTERNET_TOOLS

    Adobe are pushing Acrobat as *The* document creater and viewer. As
    such, Acroread V2.0 is freely available (http://www.adobe.com/) and
    they have sample PDF (an Adobe nomenclature, much like PostScript)
    files. One of the files is called 'Great Tastes: A Cookbook'. I can't
    find any credits or acknowledgements for the book. Its 58 pages long, 
    appears rendered from Postscript, is no particular culinary heavyweight 
    but has a few interesting dishes e.g. Seven Layer Taco Dip, Clams 
    Oreganato, Moussaka, Honey Glazed chicken, Amish pot roast, desserts, 
    side dishes, breads, etc. Its a reasonable giggle to get you going on the
    WWW and using Acroread.
    
    Note, I believe URLs are case sensitive, so type the URL as I've typed
    it. Alternatively go to Adobe's home page http://www.adobe.com and
    follow the links.

    Jane, the standard response to your plea for help is to check out the
    Internet_tools conference. However, a better bet would be to drop into
    the ROCKS::UK_DIGITAL conference and look at note 978, reply .58
    onward. I've put detailed instructions on how to get going on VMS, 
    ALL-IN-1 and PCs. The North region (did I say that) tend to be quite
    good on keeping up to date with technical type things, so WOTVAX may
    even have Mosaic up and running.
